South Canterbury Drama League Inc

The South Canterbury Drama League Inc was founded in 1926 and has since become a pioneer of community drama in New Zealand. With eight groups participating in its inaugural one-act play competition in 1927, the League has grown to include five different sections, each with their own committee. The League stages ten productions each year, ranging from large-scale musicals to plays and children's theatre. Additionally, they offer workshops, theatre competitions, holiday programs, and costume hire. The League's headquarters, "The Playhouse," is located on Church Street in Timaru and serves as the "Home of Theatre."
