Ponsonby Masjid, also known as Al-Masjid Al-Jamie, is New Zealand's first and oldest mosque, built in 1979. It has a capacity of up to 700 people, with prayer space for both males and females, as well as kitchen and Janaza facilities. The mosque serves as a Dawat and Tabligh activities center for New Zealand, with Bayaan every Friday night after Isha Salaat and after Maghrib Salaat during daylight savings time. The facility also offers excellent facilities, including a Janazah room for washing and shrouding the deceased, and a strong Madressa program running on weekdays and weekends. Additionally, the mosque holds 5 daily Salaat and Jumu'ah Salaat.
